A long, strange brush
New Paint X's premier feature is its built-in brushes, which provide a great springboard for learning the app itself: trying out the different brushes and mastering them is an easy, intuitive way to make yourself better at using the app. On the other hand, some basic functionality requires learning of its own: there is no line tool, for example, and lines must instead be made by holding Shift and clicking with the pencil tool. It's not unworkable, but it can take some getting used to.

Overall, New Paint X is a great choice if you're used to the previous software, Paint X, or if you don't have a significant digital painting background already.
